Austria’s capital community volunteers deliver fact-based drug education with young people across the city

Vienna — 23 December 2025 — Volunteers linked to “A Drug-Free World” Austria are expanding outreach in Vienna, speaking with young people, parents and teachers through street information stands and event-based activities. Led locally by Gabriele Toker, a local organiser, the initiative relies on “Truth About Drugs” materials to provide straightforward information on drug risks, with particular attention to cannabis, described by public monitoring bodies as the most widely used illicit drug in Europe. A short report is available via a published overview.

According to organisers, the Vienna activities focus on early prevention, with visibility at major public events, including the Donauinselfest, while also connecting eu news 2023 with educators interested in classroom-ready resources. Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European institutions and the United Nations, noted: “Prevention works best when young people receive verified information early, in plain language—strengthening public health and civic responsibility.”
